Description
The author, Edwin H. Bryan, Jr., was born in California in 1898 and came to Hawai'i at 18. He contributed much to the study of Hawaiian astronomy and natural history during the early decades of the 20th century. The 2002 revision added a great deal of new information contributed by Dr. Richard Crowe, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Included in this version were current theories about the formation of our solar system and knowledge gained through space exploration and powerful modern telescopes. The current version, published in 2015, includes further revisions by Dr. Tim Slater, Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Astronomy & Earth Sciences Education and a Senior Scientist at the CAPER Center for Astronomy & Physics Education Research.
