Each year, the Maunakea Astronomy Outreach Committee holds an art contest among Big Island students to design the annual commemorative coin. The winning design is minted in bronze and made available throughout the island to those wishing to commemorate their visit to this unique mountain. Years 2012 and 2015-2020 are available through our store. Coin reverse side features the Maunakea Observatories mountain logo.
