The mission of the First Light Bookstore, as part of the Maunakea Visitor Station, is to support visitors to the Mauna in developing an awareness of the cultural, environmental and scientific significance of Maunakea.

First Light Bookstore (FLBS) offers products which welcome and inform visitors with aloha, that have a minimal impact on the cultural and natural resources of the Mauna, and are respectful of the host Native Hawaiian culture. All monies that are generated by FLBS go directly back into the Maunakea Visitor Information Station to support ongoing educational programs.
